Originality sells more.
The best ideas start from scratch.

Illustration is an important skill to have because it helps expand project ideas. The ability to create original drawings from paper to the computer makes a project stand out because it is unique.

Redundant clip art contain limitations and sends out a careless image. Original illustrations markets itself better because it is created solely for the purpose of the design and its target message.

My illustration work varies in visual styles and use. It carries creativity and detail. Whatever the project goals and placement use, my work can contribute in building a strong graphic design.

An Aesop Fable

illustration text of an aesop fable

This is a large poster illustrating the friendly aesop fable called “The Ant and the Dove.” Created entirely by hand with the use of photo brushes and textures, soft strokes and a soothing color palette paint a visual to a story about being a kind-hearted neighbor.

A variety of characters

These illustrations highlight a diverse group of characters that I drew for a particular project. Although the characters are similar in structure, they carry very distinctive traits to highlight their age and personalities.

A Painter and a Chef

illustration of a man wearing a hat

Inspired from vacation photographs, I used many solid shapes in these two illustrations of a painter and a chef. These pieces are prime examples for showing how our eyes fool us, how simple highlights of color can provide the greatest amount of realism.

Ice Festival Program

illustration of a family smiling and having fun in the winter season

This is a program for a fun and friendly Ice Festival. A family event is strongly emphasized by the smiles and body language of the family shown. The text and snowflake image was provided; however, I created the concept design, illustrations, and identity for the advertisement on the back page.

Sketchbook

sketch of a woman's face

I always like the finished results built from the computer; however, my work doesn't always start that way. For every project, I sketch and plan many ideas before I even touch the computer. In this case, these sketches are just examples of my illustration practice and a little bit of fun.
